Nexus Novel Advertising (NNA), Muscat, Sultanate of Oman announces an online quiz that harnesses the idea of ‘edutainment’. So, put on your thinking caps and get set for the #QuizLive

  • #QuizLive is an online general open quiz designed in such a way that teams can participate sitting in the comforts of their homes
  • The Quiz will be live and interactive on a video-conferencing platform
  • The Quiz will be international in nature and open to teams of all nationalities, age and gender
  • Team composition is two members per device
  • The basic premise of the quiz is not to test knowledge alone but to motivate the teams to use their imagination and thus making the whole experience fun for one and all
  • The quiz will be conducted in three stages as below

Stage 1 - Preliminaries – Written – 40 – 60 minutes

  • A set of questions will be screen-shared and participants will answer the questions on an answer sheet ( supplied before the event ) and sent by Whatsapp . After correction, shortlisted teams will be notified to participate in a live interactive session for the next stage

Stage 2 - Semi-finals – Live – 60 minutes ( minimum of two sessions )

  • Shortlisted teams will be segregated into batches of 8 – 10 for the live session and 3 – 4 teams from each semi-final will qualify for the finals

Finals – Live – 90 minutes

  • The teams which have qualified for the finals will again participate in a live interactive online session and the top three will qualify for cash prizes as below
  • The prelims can be contested by teams using a mobile phone but we recommend laptops for the semis and finals
  • Each stage will be on different dates as below:
    • Prelims – 21st August 2020 – Friday
      4:30 PM Oman & UAE, 5 PM Qatar & Bahrain, 10 PM Singapore, 3 PM UK, 10 AM EST, USA, Canada & 7.30 PM India
      @ Results will be communicated on the same night.
    • Semis – 22nd August 2020 – Saturday ( all sessions ) Exact timings will be communicated post Prelims along with the results
    • Finals – 28th August 2020 – Friday
      4.30 PM Oman, UAE, 3,30 PM Qatar, 830 PM Singapore, 1.30 PM UK, 8.30 AM EST, USA, Canada and 6 PM India

*The management may tweak the timings based on circumstances

Prelims

  • Registered teams will be sent a link on Whatsapp / e-mail by which they can join the session
  • Teams will have to send their answer sheets within 5 minutes of completion of the screen-share, by Whatsapp to a pre-defined number, either from their laptop or by taking a picture
  • There will be no negative marking
  • If there are two answers given for one question, it will not fetch any marks even if one of the answers is right
  • Teams which send two or more answer-sheets will be disqualified
  • Late submissions will not qualify for further participation
  • Quizmaster’s decision is final

Semis & Finals

  • Scoring patterns will be communicated at the time of the event
  • Participating methodology will also be communicated at the time of the event with a mandatory trial round before the commencement of the semi-finals
  • Any intermittent network issues at the teams’ end will be deemed unfortunate and the quiz will continue, though not without giving a reasonable time to the teams to get back online
  • Any unforeseen network issues at the QM’s end can result in rescheduling the session, though as much effort as possible for it not to be rescheduled will be undertaken
  • Needless to add, the QuizMaster’s decision will be final
